  • I use the HIPAA-secure platform, Simple Practice, to hold virtual sessions, or via Headway/Grow Therapy’s platform for those using corresponding insurance. It’s very easy to navigate and many find it to be much more convenient than in-person sessions. Phone sessions can also be utilized too when needed/appropriate. EMDR is offered virtually as well as traditional talk therapy. You are welcome to do therapy from any secure, private, and safe space that you feel free to talk comfortably and away from distractions. A secure link will be sent to you prior to our appointment inviting you to join.

  • Individual Psychotherapy: $200 for 50 minutes

    EMDR: $225 for 50 minutes | $350 for 90 minutes

I do offer limited sliding scale availability slots on a case-by-case basis.

  • Our first session together is what is considered an ‘intake assessment.’ We will discuss what brings you to therapy, what symptoms you are experiencing, your background, and your history. 'd love to hear about if you're a seasoned pro, or perhaps a first-timer in the therapy space, and what you've enjoyed previously about the therapeutic experience, or hope to gain from it this time around (as well as anything you haven't liked so much in the past).

We will chat and get to know each other-- as building rapport is essential to the therapeutic experience. We will discuss your goals and how you'd like to get there, as well as anything else you'd like for me to know--perhaps such as accommodations, or any other ideas that you'd like to discuss.

I'll give you some background information about me and how I work, and we will go over my practice policies and the boring consent stuff, then I will give you an opportunity to ask me any questions that you might have. Aside from that, we will be ready to start the therapeutic journey together!

  • The duration of therapy can vary widely and is challenging to predict. Therapy is not typically a quick solution and depends on multiple factors. If you are dealing with a single crisis and already possess strong coping skills and support systems, you may achieve your goals in just a few sessions. However, for many individuals, therapy can extend from a few months to over a year. This also may depend upon the type of therapy utilized, as EMDR can have differing time-lengths than traditional talk therapy (typically resolving the root of issues much more efficiently).

The effectiveness of therapy also hinges on the frequency of sessions, your level of commitment, and your efforts to implement changes between sessions.

  • Under the law, health care providers are required to give clients who are not using their insurance benefits an estimate of the bill for medical items and services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services, including psychotherapy services. You are entitled to a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least one business day before your medical service. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an appointment. If you receive an unexpected bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate states, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 985-635-4040.
